Name of Teacher: Karen Lam
Class/Grade/Language Level: ES and Nursery
Goal: Review grammar/vocab in a non-competitive game
This game can be used for many subjects. Basically the class splits into two teams. I can ask them a question and the first to answer correctly gets a “point” but instead of a point, their team mascot transforms. (I draw hats, horns, afros, funky glasses, tails, etc).
The point is that the younger children do not feel depressed about having fewer points. (Be prepared though for the laughs and giggles).
- With younger students at the nursery, I combine it with a Karuta game and you can draw objects they are learning as well. (Example: I drew bunny slippers and dogs shirts when they were learning animals.)
