New World Heritage Sites in Kumamoto

On July 5th, UNESCO designated the “Sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution: Iron and Steel, Shipbuilding and Coal Mining” as a World Heritage site. The sites are actually spread across several prefectures in Japan, two of them being located right here in Kumamoto. They are theManda Coal Mine in Arao City and Misumi West Port in Uki City.
